Board of Directors 2023-24
Lynn Kessel, President. • Now retired from a career in Mental Health, Human Resources and Development, and Marketing, I'm spending more time devoted to my artwork. I work primarily in acrylic and watercolor, in a contemporary/impressionistic style that exudes a sense of joy and playfulness. I exhibit at the Gallery Off the Square (Framer's Gallery) and the new WCAG Gallery. I have exhibited at the Red Poppy Festival for over 15 years, and now also exhibit at the South Main Arts Festival. My goals as President include supporting the members/artists and board members of the WCAG, enhancing the guild's presence and impact in our community, and having fun while we are doing it.
Anca Thomas, Treasurer • Born in Romania. snd with a degree in architecture, I came to Texas 26 years ago. I am a self-taught artist working in multiple mediums including fiber art. Creating brings me an incredible sense of fulfillment.
Linda Figg, Secretary • As an artist from an early age, I am grateful that I was always encouraged and supported in my passion for creating art by my family. As an art teacher for many years, I was able to encourage children and the elderly in pursuing their love of creativity as well. It has been rewarding to see students blossom. My teachers at San Antonio Junior College and University of Texas in Austin were great mentors and inspired me to look past doing realism and add some element of whimsy. I love drawing; especially in prismacolor, and combining that with pastel. My other favorite medium is oil. I began my love of art by just being inspired by the beauty in nature created by God, and trying to draw animals of all kinds.
Patrick O'Brien, Membership • Retiring after 40+ years of working in several graphics imaging disciplines as a craftsman, it is now a joy to answer only to my imagination.
LaWann Tull, Publicity • I am a full time artist and native Texan. My career spans sales and public relations in the international travel industry with three airlines and travel consortiums. Exposure to art museums and worldwide study has further influenced my indirect style and artistic expression. I have taught privately and studied with some of the most notable artists in the nation including Tina Garrett, Daniel E. Greene, David Chiefetz, Vie Dunn-Harr, Lajos Markos, William Henry Earle, Dick Turner and Georgetown’s Dalhart Windberg.
Patti Wojtowecz, Exhibits • I am a photographer, and I also enjoy working with all painting and drawing mediums. The exploration of light and shadow inspires my work.
Ted Keller, Parliamentarian • A nationally published, award-winning photographer who works with photo restoration; jurying, judging, consulting and training workshops. Past 2-term WCAG President.
Ricardo Robles, Webmaster • A master oil and pastel artist, and Illustrator. He paints the wildlife of the Southwest. His love of the West is evident and you may even find him photographing his subjects right before the sun sets.
Jessica Snowden, Framers Gallery • Jessica Snowden is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist with a focus on nature and its creatures. Her overall belief is to create work that uplifts and delights her audience. She has been creating all of her life, focusing on developing her skills over the last 15 years. While she built her portfolio, she found opportunities in teaching throughout her communities and working with other artists in event and gallery settings. She believes in connecting others through creativity.
Lilly Ramphal Naley MD, Newsletter • Lilly paints with water soluble oil medium, landscapes, animals, children scenes in nature. For many years she worked as a full time physician and surgeon then retired in 2018 to paint full time. Her motivation to paint is to heal peoples' souls with paint and brush since ,in her opinion, the soul is where illness begins. She is very active in the North Central Art Guilds including WCAG, Capital Art Society, Creative Art Society and shows her art work around town in North Central Texas. Her goal is to expand art awareness within our community, especially during these difficult times. Lilly has trained with Melinda Morrison and Judy Gelfert both established artists in Fort Worth. Lilly is primarily a self taught artist since childhood.
